Tai-Chi (also, “taijiquan”), once practiced as a Chinese martial art, has been found as a great tool for persons suffering from such things as arthritis, hypertension (high blood pressure and heart disease, sleep disorders, and stress. Now often referred to as a form of “moving meditation”, Tai-Chi promotes proper breathing, improved concentration and circulation. Its slow, rhythmic movements are extremely low impact and foster the development of grace, balance, flexibility, bone density, and muscular strength.
Tai-Chi can be learned and practiced by persons of all ages.
